Kevin Harvick Bets on Brad Keselowski to Win Daytona Regular Season Finale
“It’s Going to Be Hot!” Kevin Harvick Exposes the Driver Under Most Pressure at Atlanta 1 Brad Keselowski (via Imagn)

NASCAR heads to Daytona International Speedway this weekend for the final Cup Series race of the regular season. The iconic superspeedway will undoubtedly provide some incredible on-track action this time around. Ahead of the race, NASCAR legend Kevin Harvick reckons that it will be Brad Keselowski who will make his way to Victory Lane.

The Ford driver currently sits in P19 in the Cup Series standings. The RFK Racing veteran has failed to win a single race this season and is likely to miss the Playoffs. Brad Keselowski must win in Daytona to get a surprise spot into the business end of the season.

As per the regulations, 16 drivers qualify for the NASCAR Playoffs, with a race win guaranteeing this spot. If 16 drivers do not win at least a single race, the remaining slots are given based on a points cut-off.

During the Happy Hour podcast, Kevin Harvick accepted that Keselowski is in dire need of a race win. He placed his bets on the RFK Racing veteran for this weekend, hoping that the Ford driver will take his first win of the season.

I’m going to go with another guy that needs to get back to Victory Lane, Brad Keselowski. That would mark his first win of the season, as well.

Kevin Harvick said on Happy Hour podcast.

However, Brad Keselowski has not had the best of runs this year. The NASCAR veteran only has 4 top 5 f inishes to his name and has struggled to get to the front. The final regular season race would be a challenge for Keselowski to win.

NASCAR Insider wants Brad Keselowski to win in Daytona

Kevin Harvick is not the only one who thinks Keselowski can emerge victorious in the final regular season race. NASCAR insider Corey Lajoie hoped that the No. 6 driver could end his winless run. Keselowski is expecting his fourth child this weekend, thus a race win would make the moment even more special.

Lajoie asserted that the RFK Racing star would be a man on a mission. He pointed out that Brad Keselowski is infamous for never being afraid of pushing to the limit on-track. Moreover, RFK Racing has historically had good runs in superspeedways. Thus, all factors combined, Keselowski could have a good shot at winning the race and making it to the Playoffs at the last minute.

Hopefully Paige and Brad welcome their fourth baby into the world this week so he can, you know, pull him tight. Brad will be on a mission and we know that he is not scared to put that thing wherever it needs to be to get in position… They are locked in and we all know what that team can do at a speedway. I have no doubt that Brad is going to put himself in whatever position necessary to get that #6 car in the championship.

Corey Lajoie said on NASCAR Inside the Race.

Certainly, Keselowski will be under a lot of pressure. It is unthinkable to see a NASCAR veteran not even secure a spot in the Playoffs with just one regular season race to go. But this is where experience comes in. Brad Keselowski does have what it takes to pull off a late upset and make it to Victory Lane.
