Kyle Busch Shares Unexpected Injury News

Kyle Busch is a great racer and a great husband as he supports his wife's podcast, Certified Oversharer. On the most recent episode, Busch shared news that was actually... crazy. Ahead of Daytona, Busch suffered a brutal injury that, luckily, did not sideline him, but it surely adds to the turmoil that Busch and RCR have to deal with.

In a story, Busch explains that he had to repair a smoke alarm detector. Any homeowner knows what this entails... get a stool, get on the stool, change the batteries, so and so more. Well, Busch's stool collapsed from underneath him, and boom goes the dynamite.

In the story, Samantha Busch goes on to say how while Busch landed on his feet, Brexton Busch came out and spotted Kyle bleeding from his leg, "gushing blood". Be sure to watch the clip for more.

When all was said and done, the nurses got freaked out by Busch being a professional athlete. The cut on his calf was massive. They wish not to be responsible, understandably so. At the end of it all, the doctors did do their job. Busch left the hospital with 24 stitches.

This event occurred right before the Clash was scheduled to take place. It appears this injury was not reported by any news source, and luckily for Busch, it was due to the snow. He confirmed that he would likely have been unable to race in the Clash.

Busch's story seems to coincide with the season that Richard Childress Racing has had. They try to do their job, but it seems to fail, resulting in injury. Busch is currently in 20th place in the NASCARCup Series driver standings. His teammate, Austin Dillon, is 29th in the standings. Both Jesse Love and Austin Hill failed to earn any notable points themselves as part-time drivers of the No. 33.

Fans are unsure if Busch or Dillon will return to RCR after their 2026 contracts expire. Simply put, these guys must finish high and do so sooner rather than later. Busch has yet to win a race for Richard Childress Racing since 2023.
