As 23XI Racing is enjoying a breakout season in the NASCAR Cup Series, Michael Jordan is doubling down.
Tyler Reddick, who drives the No. 45 car for 23XI Racing, has five wins in nine starts this season. He's looking to go for No. 6 this weekend. Jordan, who won six NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls, has teamed up with Denny Hamlin on 23XI Racing.
“It’s just a perfect partnership. I don’t even know how to explain it. It’s because this doesn’t work unless he gives me the autonomy to do it," Hamlin said.
Hamlin added: “He was just so appreciative of the fact that he says, ‘Okay, here’s my percent, here’s your percent, but you’re going to have to build it. You’re going to have to do the work. You’re the boots on the ground.’ And so that was what I wanted, right? You know, where I get the gratification is from building something from scratch.”
Amid 23XI Racing's breakout season, Jordan is doubling down as the money man behind the team.
Jordan has officially inked Reddick to a massive, longterm contract extension with 23XI Racing.
