In the end, Shane van Gisbergen wins at COTA for the first time in his NASCAR career. He held off the field and used a wild move to go from sixth to first. Connor Zilisch had issues and was ultimately wrecked at the end of the race.

It was a fun race at COTA once again. Everyone wanted to knock SVG off the top, but nothing could shake him. Austin Hill was consistent as ever. You had great runs by several drivers abruptly ended after a late crash that included Carson Kvapil, Rajah Caruth, and others.

Brent Crews had an outstanding debut this season today. He even led the race at one point, and is the first 17-year-old to lead a lap in the series since Casey Atwood at Nashville Fairgrounds in 1998.

With Zilisch getting dumped by Corey Day late in the race, we didn't get to see him make any last-minute runs for the lead. He didn't have enough time to track down SVG, but if he had one more restart, things would have been interesting. Instead, Zilisch almost became the caution.

Shane van Gisbergen Throws Up Peace Sign, Other Highlights

Not only did Shane van Gisbergen win this race, he had to earn it the hard way. Or at least, it would have been hard for anyone else. He put a three-wide move on the leaders at one point and then gave them a peace sign on his way out.

The SVG highlights didn't end there. Watch as he goes from P6 to P1 in a single turn on this late restart. Just perfection.

Now watch this burnout. Honestly, is there ayone better at this than SVG?
