Austin Hill wins at Daytona from the pole. Another dominant superspeedway performance from the Richard Childress Racing driver. He couldn't be stopped to end this race, no matter how many runs the field got on him.

The race ended with a two-lap dash in regulation. No overtime needed in this one. Austin Hill was almost perfect. He swept the stages and adds yet another drafting track win to his record.

Austin Hill Claims Another Win in the Draft

Two or three years ago, it might have been funny to call Austin Hill a "draft merchant." It might have been valid to question the wins when it was only two, three, or four of them. At this point, it's more than a trend and it is a legitimate skill that fans and drivers alike have to respect.

Hill has won with damaged cars. He's won coming from the back of the field late. There have been penalties that have hindered him along the way. Somehow, someway, he gets the job done when it comes to these drafting races.

This is the fourth time in the last five years that Hill has won the season-opener for the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series. Last year, he was a DNF but led the most laps in the race. His teammate, Jesse Love, won.

These big, high-speed tracks, and you can include intermediate tracks in that as well, play into Austin Hill's hands. Tonight, he kept his car clean, and that was always going to be a tough obstacle to overcome for the rest of the field.

Going to Atlanta, Hill is on a three-race win streak in the spring event, and five times overall in his career. The winstreak may have just begun.
