In the near future, NASCAR will renovate Talladega Superspeedway. A bit of news ahead of the 2026 season. Talladega has been around since 1969. It has undergone several renovations and additions. Sounds like more are on the way.

Ben Kennedy spoke with Adam Stern of Sports Business Journal about a number of topics. Among the highlights, Stern points out an upcoming renovation for the biggest and baddest track on the NASCAR circuit.

NASCAR is in the midst of a potential rebirth. A newly released ad highlights the newest brand identity the sport is undertaking. It even took some not-so-subtle jabs at F1. Among the changes coming to NASCAR are improvements for fans, like a renovation at Talladega.

"NASCAR is mapping out a renovation to Talladega Superspeedway, in a previously unreported development," Stern writes.

It might seem like small news, but a renovation at Talladega would be fantastic. It isn't like the track is falling apart or in disrepair. However, Dega is one of the most notable tracks in the sport. Having it looking in tip-top shape and being a modern, updated facility is a necessity.

"NASCAR recently reorganized its venue and event divisions with Kennedy saying that the ultimate aim is to continue schedule innovation, improve fan experience and use the race tracks on a more year-round basis with other events," Stern reports.

Sounds like the folks at NASCAR are trying to do more. Not just do more for the people in charge of the sport, but give more to fans and others who make up the NASCAR community.

If you're a Talladega regular, does this renovation excite you? The track hosts so many fans each year, and one of the biggest parties in all of sports on the Boulevard. What else could Dega use to make things better for fans?
