The NASCAR community lost a beloved figured this weekend.

Charlie Henderson, the owner of Henderson Motorsports, has passed away. This sad news was first reported by Heather Williams of News 5 WCYB. She's been covering racing for 20 years and was once presented with the Catlin Motorsports Journalism Award.

"Long time @NASCAR team owner Charlie Henderson has passed away," Williams wrote on X this Saturday. "He was the owner of @HendersonTrucks and Food Country USA. I am heartbroken."

The cause of Henderson's death has not been announced at this time.

After Williams shared this heartbreaking news, NASCAR fans offered their fondest memories of Henderson.

"Sad to hear knowing that the 75 truck was always a fan favorite and the fact that the Daytona win was stripped feels even more like a bigger sucker punch to the gut. Rest In Peace Charlie Henderson. The racing community will miss you dearly," one fan said.

"Well that's a bummer. One of NASCAR's better underdog teams," a second fan declared.

"I just visited his race shop just once day after the NASCAR race at Bristol in April. R.I.P Charlie," a social media user wrote.

"Charlie was a good soul, can't believe he's gone. All Prayers and condolences to the #75 team and Charlie's family," another fan said.

Since the team's debut in 1982, Henderson Motorsports has competed in the Winston Cup Series, Busch Series and Hooters Pro Cup Series.

At the moment, Henderson Motorsports resides in the Craftsman Truck Series.

Our thoughts are with Henderson's loved ones.
