Watch: Kevin Harvick and Mamba Smith predicts 'sharpened iron' Bubba Wallace’s return to victory lane before long
Peter Casey-USA TODAY Sports

The 2023 season marked the best ever season of Bubba Wallace ’s carer that saw him secure a R-12 playoff entry and a P10 finish in the championship. But he failed to secure a win last season and has been winless since the 2022 playoff race at Kansas. But recently he has shown signs of a potential return to victory lane with back-to-back strong runs.

In the recent episode of the Happy Hour podcast, Kevin Harvick and co-host Mamba Smith discussed the probability of a Bubba Wallace win. Smith pointed out that racing with Tyler Reddick, who was the lead driver at 23XI Racing last season, the No:23 Camry driver became a better racer. Reddick had two wins last year compared to Wallace with none.

Smith went onto point out that in order to win races, the driver and the crew has ton execute perfectly and in the last few races the No:23 team has been getting into that rhythm. Harvick also agreed with his co-host and predicted good days ahead for Wallace. He reckons the No:23 team needs to keep being around top-5 and the win will come.

Yeah, the 23XI. I think last year was a lot of the No. 45 kind of leading the way, but iron sharpens iron. I think Bubba has always been a talent. That was never the question. It was putting it all together. Like Kevin was saying like, these races are really hard to win. You need to perform and execute on track, on pit road. Everyone needs to do their job well. And the No. 23 is starting to do that at a high level, and it’s starting to show up. Mamba Smith said via Happy Hour podcast.

Kevin Harvick sees promising results from Bubba Wallace at Texas and Kansas

Harvick while discussing the same pointed out that the upcoming races at Texas and Kansas would be the best places for Wallace’s to fight for wins. It has always been tracks both the driver and 23XI has been good at. He agreed with Smith that Wallace, Reddick and Christopher Bell would be three main contenders in the two weeks.

Yeah, I feel like Texas and Kansas are Bubba’s two best places, typically, and you expect them to go there and contend for the win. And I agree with you. I know that’s rare, but I agree with you. Those cars are going to be good this weekend. It’s just typically been a good racetrack. We hadn’t raced here in the spring in a while.

Kevin Harvick said.

Wallace despite showing promises has to clean up his racing to win in the coming weekends. Mis-execution by Wallace and his driver at Richmond was a big reason for their poor performance, hence they should work on perfecting these to secure playoff by winning races.
