3 Potential New York Knicks' Trade Candidates Entering the 2025-26 NBA Season

After reaching the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2000 last season, the New York Knicks will enter the 2025-26 NBA season looking to make a run to the NBA Finals.

Of course, the Knicks will have their core of Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby and Josh hart back this season and they also made some notable additions to their roster this offseason.

New York signed both Jordan Clarkson and Guerschon Yabusele in free agency to upgrade their bench, which was a major issue for them last season.

The Knicks are also expected to sign another veteran player to bolster their depth to fill their final roster spot before the start of the regular season.

While the Knicks have already made multiple moves to try and chase a championship this season, they could elect to make more ahead of the trade deadline and here are three players who could be on the move.

Mitchell Robinson

Mitchell Robinson has played a key role for the Knicks during his seven seasons with the team as both their starting and backup center but he also has some key issues that could cause New York to look to move him this season.

Robinson has dealt with a ton of injuries during his NBA career that has cost the Knicks at some points. Last season, he played only 17 games during the regular season and he has played in more than 70 games in a season just once over the past four years.

With injuries continuing to be a concern for the 27-year-old center and with him also entering the final year of his contract with the Knicks, they could elect to trade him this season instead of potentially losing him for nothing next summer.

Miles McBride

Miles McBride has turned into a fan favorite for the Knicks during his four seasons in the NBA, though he has been rumored to be a potential player they could move entering the new season.

The 24-year-old guard is a great scorer off the bench for the Knicks but he does lack playmaking skills that they desperately need out of their backup point guard.

Because of this, along with the possibility that New York signs a veteran point guard in free agency, McBride could be on the move this season if the Knicks have a shot at acquiring another key player for their roster.

Tyler Kolek

Tyler Kolek is entering his second season in the NBA and it may be tough sledding for the 24-year-old guard to find minutes in New York.

With Brunson and McBride ahead of him in the rotation along with the addition of Clarkson and possibly another veteran guard in free agency, Kolek could see his minutes diminish even more this season after he played only 7.2 minutes per game last season.

Because of this, the Knicks could elect to trade Kolek to a team where he will have a shot at more minutes, especially if New York can land another key piece for their roster.

While the Knicks are expected to be one of the top teams heading into the 2025-26 season, it would not be a surprise if they made moves to bolster their roster to make a run at a championship.
