The Indiana Pacers are coming off an impressive season that saw them reach the NBA Finals and take the Oklahoma City Thunder to seven games before ultimately falling.

Of course, the biggest storyline exiting last season for the Pacers was Tyrese Haliburton’s Achilles injury that will keep him out the entirety of this season.

Not only will Indiana be without Haliburton this season, but they also lost star center Myles Turner to the Milwaukee Bucks in free agency.

With these two losses, Indiana is not expected to be a contender this season in the Eastern Conference despite Pascal Siakam leading the way.

Despite this, the Pacers may still look to upgrade their roster ahead of the trade deadline to build towards next season whenever Haliburton returns.

If that is the case, they could end up targeting these three players in potential trades.

Walker Kessler

With the loss of Turner in free agency, the Pacers are in desperate need of a new starting center and they could target Utah Jazz big man Walker Kessler.

Of course, the Jazz have a high asking price for their young center but the Pacers may be willing to meet it to add Kessler to their roster, giving them a new starting center for the future.

Kessler is a reliable inside scorer and he is also a great rebounder and defender who could fit well inside next to Siakam and could become a key piece of their future, especially once Haliburton returns.

Nick Richards

With the Phoenix Suns rebuilding this offseason and also adding both Khaman Maluach and Mark Williams, they could look to move Nick Richards ahead of the trade deadline.

If this is the case, Indiana could target the 27-year-old center who they could acquire for a smaller trade package than some other big men around the league.

For Richards, he would give the Pacers a solid inside scorer, rebounder and defender who could take over as their starting center.

Nikola Vucevic

Nikola Vucevic has been in trade rumors over the past handful of seasons and with him entering the final year of his contract, the Chicago Bulls will likely be looking to move him.

The Pacers could be a team that shows interest in the veteran big man as they could take a chance on bringing him in and signing him to a contract extension to be their starting center over the next few seasons.

Vucevic is a reliable scorer who can help space the floor and he is also a great rebounder and solid defender.

While the Pacers could target these three players, they could also look elsewhere around the league but either way, they will likely be in search of center depth this season.
