3 Trade Options the Portland Trail Blazers Could Pursue During 2025-26 NBA Season

Despite missing the playoffs last season, the Portland Trail Blazers put together a solid season as they saw their young talent continue to grow.

Of course, the Trail Blazers have built a solid core led by Deni Avdija, Scoot Henderson, Toumani Camara and Shaedon Sharpe and they made some key additions to their roster this offseason.

Portland selected Yang Hansen in the 2025 draft, acquired Jrue Holiday from the Boston Celtics in exchange for Anfernee Simons and signed Damian Lillard in free agency after he was released by the Milwaukee Bucks.

With these moves the Trail Blazers are looking to sneak into a Play-In spot this season and they could look to upgrade their roster ahead of the trade deadline.

If that is the case, Portland could target these three players to bolster their roster.

Jonathan Kuminga

With Portland possibly looking to add more young talent to their roster, they could target Golden State Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga.

Of course, Kuminga’s future in Golden State is uncertain as he fell out of Steve Kerr’s rotation last season and they have been unwilling to commit to him long-term this summer.

Because of this, the Trail Blazers could target the young forward to add another solid scorer and defender to their roster.

RJ Barrett

RJ Barrett has found himself in trade rumors once again and if the Toronto Raptors decide to move him, the Trail Blazers could show interest in him.

The young guard is a solid scorer and defender who has continued to improve and could become a key player for Portland if they were able to acquire him.

Despite this, the Trail Blazers may be unwilling to meet the Raptors’ asking price for him as Toronto will likely want a large trade package in return.

Devin Carter

While the Trail Blazers did add both Holiday and Lillard this offseason, they could look to add another point guard to their roster in Devin Carter.

For Carter, the Sacramento Kings have shown interest in moving him for the right price and his potential, especially on the defensive end, could entice Portland.

Despite this, the young guard does still have work to do on the offensive end after his struggles last season, though he excels defensively, which could cause the Trail Blazers to target him.

While Portland could target these three players, they could also look elsewhere to upgrade their roster as they try to make the playoffs this season.
