76ers' Joel Embiid fined $35K for altercation with Hawks' John Collins in Game 6

The NBA fined Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid $35,000 for "escalating the on-court altercation" he had with Atlanta Hawks forward John Collins in the fourth quarter of Game 6 on Friday, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.

Hawks big man Bruno Fernando was also given a one-game suspension for leaving the bench area during the incident.

Embiid and Collins had a confrontation with 4:03 remaining in Friday's game after the 76ers star was called for an offensive foul. After mixing it up with each other on the floor, two stood up and got face to face before being given matching technical fouls.

Embiid said after the game that he thought officials didn't call the game fairly, adding that his technical foul should have been given to Trae Young instead because the Hawks star pushed him from behind during the altercation.

The Sixers and Hawks will meet again Sunday with a shot at the Eastern Conference Finals on the line.
