76ers vs. Celtics – 2026 NBA Playoffs: Game Preview, Odds, and Injury Updates (May 2)

The Boston Celtics are in big trouble at the moment. Initially, when the Boston Celtics faced the Philadelphia 76ers, Boston was confident it would win the series. However, as the postseason began, Philadelphia showed its true colors. With Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid, and others delivering impressive performances, both teams have pushed the series to a 3–3 tie. 

After losing game 5, Jayson Tatum admitted his team’s shortcomings. But the 28-year-old was stunned to see Boston fail once again as Philadelphia took game 6 with a  106-93 victory. Having forced a game 7, it is now a do-or-die affair for both teams. In fact, with consecutive wins, the 76ers will carry the momentum and are favorites to clinch the series. 

Adding insult to Boston’s woes further, the 76ers fans at the Xfinity Mobile Arena dropped the ‘We Want Boston’ chants. This was a callback to the Philly fans’ excitement after learning the Celtics would be their postseason opponent. Since then, fans have directed the chant at either team throughout the series. Thus, with a lot at stake, both the Celtics and the 76ers will come out with their guns blazing this Saturday.
