Oklahoma City Thunder guard Alex Caruso has opened up about his long-term relationship with the franchise.
Following their tough Game 7 loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday, the two-time NBA champion renewed his commitment to the team.
During his post-game interview, Caruso made it clear that he isn’t going anywhere, and his current four-year, $81 million deal is the best evidence of that.
“I signed the contract,” the 32-year-old defensive specialist said. “...so obviously I’m looking forward to being here for a handful of years.”
Caruso signed the contract extension in December 2024, just months after Oklahoma acquired him from the Chicago Bulls in the offseason in exchange for Josh Giddey.
The Texas A&M product also shared his incredible relationship with the ball club, which will continue through the 2028-29 season under his current contract.
“I think the marriage has been great between me and the Thunder organization,” he continued.

The 2025 NBA title for Caruso and the Thunder was the strongest affirmation of the healthy relationship he was talking about.
Since his arrival on the team, Caruso has become the veteran leader for the young Oklahoma squad, and it instantly translated into a championship last season.
Even though they were one game short of returning to the NBA Finals, Caruso and the Thunder are still optimistic about their future.
Their current roster is still relatively young, with Caruso and Kenrich Williams as the only players who are in their 30s.
Caruso gave his all to help their depleted team against the Victor Wembanyama-led Spurs team in the Western Conference finals.
He averaged 14.9 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists in the series, and played a massive role on the defensive end.
But contract extensions and the salary cap will be their biggest concerns OKC will face in the coming offseason.
