Gilbert Arenas, for the first time in a long time, was not mixed up in a controversial statement as he and his crew of the Gil’s Arena had the most insightful conversation about who the most skilled player in the league was. With all his wisdom and experience, Arenas outlined the qualities required for one to be termed skillful.

Gilbert Arenas and the Gil’s Arena Crew disagreed with NBA Players like Draymond Green & Damian Lillard for referring to Kyrie Irving as the most skilled player in NBA history. Arenas and the crew gave their own criteria on what skill means in the NBA, citing multidimensional scorers like Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, and Carmelo Anthony.

Furthermore, Agent Zero was more versed in the conversation as he emphasized that a player being skillful is more than being able to dribble or shoot. The most skillful has to be the one that checks off the most attributes, and it is composed of both the defensive and offensive sides of the game. He went further to take offense with those who haven’t had experience in the NBA but are great in the three-level scoring of scoring close to the basket, mid-range jump shots, and three-pointers, which doesn’t mean they’re skillful, and it shouldn’t be dumped down more for people to fit in.

Arenas stated:

There’s levels of f****** being a f****** scoring type of guard, so don’t keep dumping it down for more people to fit in. Gilbert Arenas said

In conclusion, the debate on who the most skilled player is will never stop as the list includes legends, past and present. It includes the great Larry Bird , Michael Jordan, Kevin Durant, Nikola Jokic , Kyrie Irving, LeBron James , Steph Curry, and many others. However, according to Arenas, the choice has to be one who can do more than shoot and dribble.

What led to the conversation on the Gil’s Arena?

Draymond Green, speaking on his podcast, “The Draymond Green Show,” brought up the debate that Gilbert Arenas and his crew discussed on the Gil’s. Green picked Kyrie Irving as the most skilled player in the NBA’s history, even overlooking his teammate, Curry.

Moreover, Irving was chosen for his magnificent performance against the Denver Nuggets last time, where his clutch left-hand floater sealed the win for the Mavericks. After the game, Green said:

There’s actually nothing you can do to stop Kyrie from scoring -- you just try to do all you can to make him take a tough shot and live with the results. I saw Damian Lillard tweet, ‘Kyrie Irving is the most skilled player in NBA history,’ quite frankly, I’m not sure who can argue against that. Draymond Green said

Furthermore, Irving has demonstrated an almost unparalleled skill set throughout his career in the NBA. He is on nearly everyone’s list as one of the most skilled players to grace the basketball court, and this season, he has struck a great partnership with teammate Luka Doncic .
