NBA rookie earns All-Star mentor after calling him the 'GOAT'

One month after revealing his shocking pick in the NBA GOAT discussion, rookie Brandon Miller now has his selection as a mentor.

Miller recently appeared on "Podcast P with Paul George" and the Los Angeles Clippers star offered to be the youngster's advisor.

"Use me, use me as much as you want," George told Miller, per a TMZ Sports report. "Use me as a resource, bro. That's what I'm here for. I want to help you in every step that you need if you need."

"PG-13" added that he wanted to make Miller's "journey a lot smoother and easier."

During his time on the podcast, the Charlotte Hornets No. 2 overall pick explained that George became his GOAT during his days with the Indiana Pacers when he dunked on Chris "Birdman" Anderson in the 2013 Eastern Conference Finals.

George has put together a stellar 13-year career, earning eight All-Star nods, six All-NBA and four All-Defensive honors. He also earned the league's Most Improved Player award for the 2012-13 campaign.

Miller is one of the most promising rookies but came into June's draft with some off-the-court concerns.

In February, a Tuscaloosa detective testified that the 20-year-old brought ex-teammate Darius Miles' gun to him the night of January's fatal shooting of 23-year-old Jamea Jonae Harris. According to Miller's attorney, Miles had left the firearm in Miller's vehicle after he dropped Miles off at a club.

The attorney further said that the 2023 SEC Player of the Year had no knowledge of any intent to use the gun.

Earlier this year, Tuscaloosa County chief deputy district attorney Paula Whitley said that Miller faced no charges stemming from the incident.
