The Miami Heat rank among the NBA’s most impressive teams through the first quarter of the season.
The Miami Heat currently sit third in the Eastern Conference with a 14-7 record, winning seven of their last eight games.
Several players have contributed to Miami’s success, with Norman Powell standing out as a valuable addition and Jaime Jacquez Jr. elevating his play from the bench.
Tyler Herro recently returned from injury, while Bam Adebayo maintains consistent production at 19.4 points per game.
According to guard Davion Mitchell, the Heat possess an underrated star in Andrew Wiggins, whose calm but effective style has driven much of their success
Mitchell believes Wiggins has maintained this approach since his Golden State Warriors tenure, where he operated under the radar alongside stars like Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.
“He’s just a guy who leads by example, he’s kind of been that, even with the Warriors, kind of that guy that was just under the radar, but he always just so effective on both ends of the floor,” Mitchell explained.
“He works extremely hard. He’s a really big piece for us, guarding the best players, getting rebounds. He’s out in transition, hitting tough shots in the fourth quarter.“
“It has kind of been his game. He’s just a guy that leads,” he added.

He currently averages 17.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game while displaying remarkable efficiency.
His 49.6% field goal percentage represents a career high, complemented by 36.8% three-point shooting. The combination shows improved shot selection and effectiveness within Miami’s offensive system.
In Miami’s recent 140-123 victory over the Clippers, Wiggins contributed 22 points and nine rebounds while posting a plus-32 rating.
During the summer, Wiggins was linked to potential trades with the Los Angeles Lakers. However, his current level of play may cause the Heat front office to reconsider any future trade discussions involving their quietly effective forward.
