Ant mocks LeBron, Jalen Brunson, LaMelo in new commercial

After some friendly comments about the hairlines of Philadelphia’s newest stars, Edwards commented on one of his newest teammates, LaMelo Ball, and his often-discussed driving history.

“I’m excited about my new road dog. They brought my twin to the Twin Cities. We’ve been working out together and doing all types of things. But one thing we ain’t doing is carpooling if he’s driving. I ain’t riding with him ya’ll.”

It has been rumored that Ball has hired a personal driver since being traded to the Wolves. Edwards wrapped up his friendly roasts with shouting out former teammate Karl-Anthony Towns and the New York Knicks winning the NBA Championship.

“Aye, don’t forget, shoutout [KAT] for winning the chip though. I ain’t going to lie, I am going to be there soon ya’ll. Just wait on it. Everybody and their momma has been asking me, ‘Ant, what’s the mindset this season?’ It’s simple ya’ll. The cage is open, and the dog is unleashed… If you’re on the court against me, anybody can get it. Even your daddy; I don’t care if he’s your assistant coach.”

The 2026-27 season feels like a new era of the Timberwolves. Edwards is now 25 years old; he has a young running mate with Ball in the backcourt, and there are plenty more pieces to build around the future. Edwards has become one of the brightest young stars in American sports, and he continues to do a great job showcasing his personality, with an old-school commercial and some old-school smack talk.

The most interesting part of the commercial was at the end. Ant continued saying, “It’s over for all ya’ll. Especially for you know who.” Victor Wembanyama? Shai Gilgeous-Alexander? LeBron? Who’s he referring to? I guess we’ll have to wait until the season to find out.
