While critics continue to question Bronny James's NBA readiness, his South Bay Lakers teammate Armel Traore is standing firmly in his corner. When  TMZ caught up with the French two-way player at LAX, he had nothing but praise for the rookie guard.

"He's my guy," Traore told TMZ Sports. "And I like everyone on the team, we're a family."

The support comes at a crucial time for James, who's faced mounting criticism over his early professional performances. In his limited G League appearances, James has managed just 10 points across 57 minutes, shooting a concerning 4-of-19 from the field. His efficiency rating of 5 currently ranks among the league's lowest.

Traore, meanwhile, has found his rhythm with South Bay, averaging 16.8 points and 10.6 rebounds per game. The 21-year-old Frenchman seems to understand the adjustment period his younger teammate is experiencing.

"I'm blessed to be here," Traore said. "Just wanna keep going, it's just the start. Every time I get my chance in the big gym, I'm showing my stuff, and in the G League, play my game."

Despite James's statistical struggles, his presence has energized South Bay's games, drawing larger crowds and increased attention to the G League squad. The bond between the two rookies appears genuine, suggesting that while James's professional journey may have started rocky, he's got solid support in the locker room as he works to find his footing.
