Jalen Green wasn’t the only one who was going through an adjustment period when the Houston Rockets traded him to the Phoenix Suns as part of a historic seven-team deal for Kevin Durant.
Green’s girlfriend and mother to his daughter Lyght, Draya Michele , recently opened up about the trade, saying they’re satisfied with moving to the Phoenix Suns.
“I always make the jokes with him and tell him, ‘I don’t care what city you’re in, we could go to hell and play for the hell… and I’ll go with you, as long as I have a good SPF… it doesn’t matter where we are, if we have each other we’ll make the best of it.’ It’s really just putting families together with their dream cars and making things convenient and also luxurious.” Michele said via The New York Post’s Jenna Lemoncelli.
“Luckily (Phoenix) is an amazing city,” she continued. “We were not disappointed with Phoenix at all. But I just need to be supportive of him and of the change and then just try to make things as smooth of a transition (as possible) for him, and not stressing him out with the worries of moving and all that.”
After trading Kevin Durant, giving Devin Booker a new extension, and cutting Bradley Beal, the Phoenix Suns may not be done just yet this summer. According to ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel, Phoenix is keen on offloading Grayson Allen and Royce O’Neale.
“Those two guys were there to be the glue and hold things together and be those secondary role players to push them over the edge. Well, not that the Suns aren’t in a contending status…but they’ve taken a step back. They’re focused on the future and how to build the best team possible around Devin Booker,” Siegel explained on PHNX Suns.
“So, what does that mean for Grayson Allen and Royce O’Neale? Well, the talk coming out of Summer League in the last few days has been that those are two players that they’re actively chatting about in the trade market,” he added.
