TEMPE — Arizona State men’s basketball paid tribute to one of its most iconic alumni this week, congratulating James Harden on earning ALL-NBA honors for the eighth time in his career.

The program shared a message on social media, praising Harden’s continued excellence at the game’s highest level and the mark he continues to leave on the sport.

“Legacy to new levels,” the post read, accompanied by a graphic celebrating Harden’s latest accolade.

Harden, who starred for the Sun Devils from 2007 to 2009, has remained a prominent figure in professional basketball since being drafter No. 3 overall by the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2009. Over the course of his 15-year NBA career, the left-handed guard has been MVP, a three-time scoring champion, and now an eight-time All-NBA selection — placing him among the most decorated guards in league history.

At ASU, Harden helped revitalize the program, earning Pac-10 Player of the Year honors and leading the Sun Devils to an NCAA Tournament berth in 2009. His No. 13 jersey was retired by the school in 2015.

Arizona State’s acknowledgment of Hardin’s All-NBA nod underscores the pride the program takes in its alumni, especially those who continue to elevate the game long after leaving Tempe.

Now playing with the Los Angeles Clippers, Harden remains a key contributor and respected veteran presence. His latest All-NBA selection adds yet another chapter to a legacy that began in maroon and gold.
