The atmosphere inside Ball Arena was tense during Game 5 as Jaden McDaniels became the center of attention.
While it’s obvious to find cues, as the Minnesota Timberwolves forward recently called out the entire Denver Nuggets defense just a couple of days earlier.
Fueling the hostility was a heated series of narratives. Apart from openly throwing shades at the opposite team, tensions escalated further after multiple on-court exchanges earlier in the matchup. By the time Game 5 tipped off, he had firmly embraced the villain role.
However, just as things kept going from both sides, arena fans were chanting ‘McDaniels Sucks’ on their top breath.

Denver responded emphatically on the court, securing a 125-113 win to extend the series. Led by Nikola Jokic’s dominant triple-double, 27 points, 12 rebounds, and 16 assists, the Nuggets controlled the tempo and capitalized on Minnesota’s mistakes.
Additionally, Jamal Murray added 24 points and 7 assists, while the team shot 57 percent from the field.
The Minnesota Timberwolves struggled to match that execution, committing 25 turnovers that turned into 35 Denver points. McDaniels, dealing with early foul trouble, finished with 13 points and four turnovers, unable to establish a consistent rhythm.
Despite the hostile reception, McDaniels remained defiant postgame. He described the environment as energizing rather than intimidating, insisting the noise had no impact on his approach. “I love it,” he said, embracing the boos and chants as part of the playoff intensity.
While the whole Ball Arena turned hostile during Minnesota’s 125-113 Game 5 loss to the Nuggets, Jaden McDaniels didn’t flinch.
With chants against him echoing every time he touched the ball, the 25-year-old leaned into the chaos, and his postgame comments were nothing but clear.
“I hear the crowd. None of it affects me,” McDaniels said. “It just brings energy… I feed into it.”
Jaden McDaniels, who was a game-worst -25 says he heard the crowd but it didn’t effect him.

“Mentally, I didn’t really feel much besides the crowd, it's all fun to me. I don't care. I feed into it. We just got to get the job done next game, and then there's no more talking.” pic.twitter.com/aghZaL6oKt
The tone, however, felt unusually indifferent given the stakes. Minnesota remains up 3-2, but with injuries piling up and momentum shifting, the urgency is expected to grow. McDaniels, instead, sounded almost energized by the hostility.
