Los Angeles Lakers veteran star LeBron James gave a heartfelt greeting to his wife, Savannah James, who recently celebrated her 39th birthday.
Over at Instagram , LeBron James penned a short but sweet greeting for his wife Savannah, while showing off a photo of her with a slice of celebratory cake.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEAUTIFUL QUEEN!!! Have a helluva year ahead of you! Love you girl!!!” James wrote in his story’s caption.
LeBron James will begin the 2025–26 NBA season at age 40 with historical milestones on the horizon and a changing role in Los Angeles. The four-time champion will start his record 23rd season on the brink of 350 made field goals to surpass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on the all-time list for made field goals.
He’s also 50 games from passing Robert Parish for the most regular-season games played in league history, while eyeing a jump to sixth place in made three-pointers.
However, priorities have changed in Los Angeles, as Luka Doncic has established himself as the franchise centerpiece for the long-term future. Although James is still expected to be an All-Star, analysts predicted James would not have the same role, including a decreased number of minutes and a focus on “high-impact” stretches, instead of nightly if not heavy loads.
Despite slim odds of a trade materializing, the Golden State Warriors have reportedly made multiple attempts to acquire LeBron James from the Los Angeles Lakers, including two recent overtures. The Lakers have shown no interest in the proposals, particularly those involving Jimmy Butler or Jonathan Kuminga.
Lakers insider Jovan Buha speculated on his podcast that the trade rumors likely originated from the Warriors’ camp, suggesting the leaks serve to project an image of urgency and ambition amid a quiet summer.
“I would assume this came out from the Warriors side,” Buha said. “They’ve had a rough summer. They have not been able to make any moves because of this Kuminga situation. It’s been drama-filled, but also stagnant at the same time. But it also benefits the Warriors to make their front office, their organization, look like they’re trying to do something.”

Golden State’s offseason has been marked by inactivity and internal tension, especially surrounding Kuminga’s restricted free agency. The team has yet to finalize a deal with the young forward, and reports indicate that several other free agents—including De’Anthony Melton and Al Horford—are waiting on Kuminga’s resolution before committing.
With Curry now 37, the Warriors are feeling the pressure to capitalize on his remaining prime years. His close friendship with James, highlighted by their Olympic gold medal run last summer, adds intrigue to Golden State’s pursuit.
As he enters the 2025 season, LeBron James would have played 22 NBA seasons altogether, making him one of the longest-tenured players in the league’s history.
