For the Toronto Raptors, it’s do-or-die at the moment. Getting ready to take on the Cleveland Cavaliers , the Raptors will be putting their season on the line. Coming into the postseason, Toronto had a lot of expectations for the team. Unfortunately, with the Cavaliers leading the series 3-2 at the moment, all eyes are on whether Brandon Ingram will be able to suit up in Game 6 or not.
According to the latest updates, the Raptors might have to do all the heavy lifting without Ingram. Ahead of game 6, the 28-year-old is listed as questionable. In game 5, the star player suffered an injury early on. Attempting an isolation, Ingram got squared up on Evan Mobley, ending up with a turnover.
Immediately, the North Carolina native limped out of the game. Later on, reports said he was suffering from right heel inflammation. Now then, this is not the first time Ingram has struggled with his heel. Dealing with a lingering foot issue, the 2-time NBA All-Star had to sit out three games in the final month of the regular season.
Meanwhile, speaking about Ingram’s overall postseason so far, the output hasn’t been very satisfactory.
Last year, the 2020 Most Improved Player had an impressive season. Unfortunately, he was unable to replicate his heroics this time around. Ahead of Wednesday’s game, the former New Orleans Pelicans star averaged 14.8 points, 2.3 assists, and 3.8 rebounds.
While he shot 38.5% from the three-point range, Ingram also had a 33.9% shooting from the field in the first-round series. However, despite a somewhat muted performance, the team hoped for the star player to excel at the biggest stage. But now, with the 6-foot-8 star’s injury coming to haunt his season further, Toronto can only hope for things to get better as they take on the surging Cavaliers tonight.
