Bronny James has completed two seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers . Much consternation was made when Bronny James was selected in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft with the No. 55 overall pick by Los Angeles. The 6-foot-2 guard is notably related to the Lakers' four-time NBA MVP Award winner (2009, 2010, 2012, 2013), LeBron James.
Bronny and LeBron made history together when, against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Oct. 22, 2024, they became the first father-son duo to play together in NBA history. Being the son of an all-time great, there is no doubt LeBron instills in his children the importance of learning a skill, practicing it and always being ready.
On Wednesday, Bronny went to social media to share that he is passing along the skills and wisdom he has learned. In an Instagram post, Bronny wrote that he is teaming up with the American Heart Association for CPR & AED Awareness Month. The 21-year-old wrote about partnering with the AHA, the benefits of knowing CPR and how critical time can be in those scenarios.
Alongside promoting awareness throughout the month, June 1-7 was also National CPR and AED Awareness Week.
"Knowing CPR isn’t just a skill … it’s a superpower! This CPR & AED Awareness Month," Bronny wrote in the Instagram caption. "I’m teaming up with the American Heart Association to remind everyone how important it is to be ready in a cardiac emergency. Because in those critical moments, help can come from anyone. Join @american_heart in building a #nationoflifesavers. Learn it. Practice it. Be ready. #nationoflifesavers #cprwithheart"
Bronny James has two years remaining on his rookie contract. But LeBron James is scheduled to be a free agent in July, so Bronny will have to wait and see if they will continue to be teammates on the Lakers.
