As the NFL Draft moves beyond its first day, many have shifted their attention to the upcoming NBA Draft. Several top college basketball stars have already announced their decisions, and one of the most recent declarations has caught the attention of Bryce James.
The Arizona shooting guard may have chosen to redshirt his first season with the Wildcats, but that didn’t stop him from building strong bonds within the roster. Arizona won the Big 12 regular-season title along with the conference tournament championship. Koa Peat, who was the nation’s 11th-best prospect according to 247Sports, played a key role in the Wildcats’ impressive season.
On Friday, Peat announced that he will declare for the NBA Draft this year. The post drew widespread attention, including from Bryce. The younger son of LeBron James commented, “Biggest of bro’s”. James has consistently supported Peat’s on-court accomplishments, often applauding him publicly on social media.
However, Peat wasn’t the only Wildcat to declare for the NBA. Arizona’s top scorer, Brayden Burries, also announced his decision to leave the program and turn professional. Bryce even commented on Burries’ post, “Yeah 5,” referencing the guard’s jersey number.
With the departure of two of the program’s top scorers, Tommy Lloyd will need to find new contributors. After nearly a year away from game action, Bryce will look to step up for the team and perhaps eventually join his teammates in the NBA to play alongside his father and brother.
