The Milwaukee Bucks have started this season off competitively, going 7-4 in the first 11 games and looking like a credible playoff challenger once again. Despite the loss of Damian Lillard in the summer, Giannis Antetokounmpo has led the team admirably this season while getting crucial support from teammates who are rising to the occasion.
Antetokounmpo is averaging 33.4 points, 11.9 rebounds and 6.2 assists this season, emerging as one of the leading contenders for the league MVP trophy. However, the Bucks star has repeatedly made his intention of winning another NBA Championship clear. While surging talents like Ryan Rollins can make his task easier, the Bucks' success ultimately comes down to what Antetokounmpo can do.
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like the 30-year-old Greek forward will be able to do much of anything in the franchise's next game. Antetokounmpo had been listed as questionable earlier this week, but his status has officially been downgraded to out for the team's clash against the Charlotte Hornets at 7 p.m. EST tonight, according to the NBA's official injury report.
The Bucks have also listed Giannis' younger brother Alex Antetokounmpo (two-way), Kevin Porter Jr. (knee) and Taurean Prince (neck) as out for this clash.
The Hornets will have a long list of players on their 1:30 p.m. injury report. Collin Sexton (ankle), KJ Simpson (AC joint) and Pat Connaughton (illness) are listed as probable.
Rookie Ryan Kalkbrenner (personal) is questionable, while LaMelo Ball (ankle), Brandon Miller (shoulder), Josh Green (shoulder), Drew Peterson (two-way), Tidjane Salauan (two-way) and Grant Williams (knee) have been ruled out.
