Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo will miss Monday’s road game vs. the Cavaliers with a strained right adductor, coach Doc Rivers said.
“For his health, I think was the right thing to do,” Rivers told reporters before the game.
Antetokounmpo, 29, is averaging 31.0 points and 12.3 rebounds through the first six games. Milwaukee, though, is just 1-5.
One of those losses came to the Cavs on Saturday at home, when star guard Donovan Mitchell buried a jumper with 0.3 seconds left. So Antetokounmpo is missing the rematch.
For the Cavs (7-0), coach Kenny Atkinson said that Dean Wade and Caris LeVert are game-time decisions. LeVert missed Saturday’s win with knee soreness. Wade played but reportedly woke up feeling under the weather on Monday.
All 30 teams are in action on Monday, with a day off for the presidential election on Tuesday. Tipoff for this game is 7 p.m. EST.
