The Indiana Pacers advanced to Game 7 of the NBA Finals following a decisive Game 6 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday, with key contributions from Pascal Siakam and Tyrese Haliburton.
Despite dealing with a calf injury, Haliburton produced 14 points and 5 assists in tonight’s contest, playing through the discomfort and providing steady play. Siakam added 16 points and 13 rebounds, as the Cameroon native seeks his second NBA championship. Obi Toppin was the only player on the Pacers to touch the 20-point mark, a performance that underscores the depth the Pacers have throughout the entirety of their roster.
On the other side, the Thunder’s supporting cast struggled to contribute offensively: Chet Holmgren scored 4 points, Luguentz Dort added 3, Alex Caruso did not register any points, Aaron Wiggins put up 5, and Cason Wallace managed 2 points. Collectively, these players posted a plus-minus rating of –78 during their time on the floor.
As the NBA Finals extend to a seventh game, basketball legends of the past have been tuned in, especially Scottie Pippen, whose contributions to the Michael Jordan-led Chicago Bulls drew comparisons to Jalen Williams with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
Following the announcement that Game 7 was set to proceed for the first time since 2016, Pippen responded on X.
