Cavaliers reportedly agree to one-year deal with Raul Neto

The Cleveland Cavaliers haven't yet made a major splash in the free-agent market, but they've done well to add some depth.

According to Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com, sources say that the Cavaliers have agreed to a one-year veteran minimum deal with guard Raul Neto. Fedor adds that Neto is close with Cleveland assistant coach Antonio Lang from when both were employed by the Utah Jazz.

Most recently, Neto spent the past two NBA seasons with the Washington Wizards. In 2021-22, the 30-year-old averaged 7.5 points, 3.1 assists, 1.9 rebounds, and 19.6 minutes across 70 games and 19 starts. He shot 46.3% from the field but was a career-worst 29.2% from beyond the 3-point line.

Earlier in the day, the Cavaliers brought popular veteran guard Ricky Rubio back to the club via a three-year, $18.4M deal. It's unknown when Rubio will be fully recovered from the torn ACL he suffered in December, and Neto likely will begin next season as Cleveland's main backup point guard.

Also on Friday, Cleveland agreed to a one-year veteran minimum deal with center Robin Lopez. Lopez will be a backup behind All-Star Jarrett Allen.
