Celtics’ Jaylen Brown Opens Up on Stephen Curry’s Place in NBA History

Stephen Curry’s incredible on-court antics over the years have earned him loads of appreciation from several NBA legends. The Celtics’ Jaylen Brown became the latest addition to that list.

Brown watched the Western Conference play-in game between Curry’s Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Clippers on April 15. Curry’s remarkable 34-point performance helped the Warriors edge past the Clippers 126-121, which led to the Celtics’ No. 7 placing him in a prestigious spot in the all-time greats list.

Amid one of his recent Twitch streams, Brown said, “Steph Curry is one of the 5 greatest players to ever play this game at this point in this career. Y’all can say whatever y’all want, fill in the rest. Steph Curry is top five, bro. Just leadership, all of that. I’m not even trying to glaze. I promise y’all are not.”

Curry is 38 years old and playing in his 17th NBA season, and he is still carrying the team’s load. Brown also pointed out how Curry mentored younger players while remaining the face of the team.

While the Warriors won that Clippers game 126-121 to stay alive, the team’s season ended after losing to the Phoenix Suns 111-96. They missed the 8th seed due to this result.

Brown and Curry faced off in the 2022 NBA Finals. The Warriors beat the Celtics in 6 games, and Brown was a key player for Boston during that tough loss. He experienced Curry’s game firsthand. Such praise from a rival pushes us to take a look at where the Warriors legend really ranks.

Why Stephen Curry’s Legacy Keeps Getting Bigger?

Curry has been in the top 10 conversation for years now. He has redefined how basketball is played. His deep shooting range created the modern three-point era. Defenses have to guard him the second he centers the half-court.

Curry is a 4x NBA champion and a 2x MVP, which includes being the only unanimous MVP in league history. He finally added a Finals MVP to his resume in 2022 after averaging 31.2 points per game against Boston.

His career average is around 24.8 points and 6.3 assists per game. He shoots with elite numbers like 47 % from the field and 42 % from deep. Even at age 38 in the 2025-26 season, he averaged 26.6 points per game. He also recently crossed 26,000 career points and remains the NBA’s all-time leader in made three-pointers by a huge margin.

So, would you agree with Brown’s take that Curry is one of the top five to ever play the game?
