The Charlotte Hornets are in desperate need of turning things around.

After all, the Charlotte Hornets currently have the longest playoff drought in the entire NBA, as they last reached the postseason in 2016.

While the Hornets have trusted Charles Lee to be their head coach, the front office needs to do a better job of constructing a quality roster.

Speaking of which, let’s take a quick look at the biggest changes the Hornets have made ahead of the 2025-26 NBA season.

Biggest additions to the Charlotte Hornets’ roster

Since the 2020-21 NBA season, the Hornets have hoped to get back into playoff contention with LaMelo Ball in charge.

However, the Hornets have failed time after time with this strategy. As a result, it’s no surprise that Ball’s name has been a mainstay in NBA trade rumors.

Despite that, the Hornets have continued to build around the injury-prone point guard. With that said, here are all the additions that the Hornets have made to their roster ahead of the upcoming season.

Keeping all the moves in mind, the trade for Collin Sexton is the biggest addition to the Hornets’ roster. Sexton is coming on the heels of averaging 18.4 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game for the Jazz last season.

Considering the fact that the Hornets added multiple players as free agents, they are bound to allow a few to leave as well.

Otherwise, the Hornets wouldn’t have enough open spots on the roster to sign the above-mentioned players.

With that said, here are all the departures via free agency and trades from the Hornets’ team ahead of the new campaign.

The most notable departure is that of Mark Williams, who made headlines last season following a failed trade to the LA Lakers.

Either way, the Hornets’ 2025-26 lineup will certainly look a lot different than last season. But is it enough to finally clinch a playoff berth? Fans will find out over the course of the regular season.
