The Cleveland Cavaliers are trying to piece together what went wrong with their season after suffering an embarrassing 4-1 loss to the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Semis. Some fans found it preposterous how a team that finished at the top of the Eastern Conference was unceremoniously manhandled by the Pacers.

Analysts and fans have had multiple takes on the exact thing that cost the Cavs a crack at the Eastern Conference Finals. Almost everyone on the roster—from Donovan Mitchell to Jarrett Allen—got called out for their contribution to the massive failure.

While the front office have quite an offseason full of chances ahead of them, one analyst makes an argument that the most important signature they should chase in the offseason is one of their more underrated players.

Analysts believes the Cleveland Cavaliers should make Ty Jerome a priority signing in the 2025 offseason

The Wine and Gold Talk Podcast, one of the leading podcasts centered on anything Cavaliers, talked about how Jerome, one of the most underrated members of the roster, must be tied down to the Cavs for longer.

Per cleveland.com:

“There is nobody that should feel comfortable with Ty Jerome potentially walking because Craig Porter Jr. is on this roster,” Chris Fedor emphatically stated. “You’re not replacing that level of production, that level of consistency, that level of stability, that level of impact with Craig Porter. It’s just not happening, not this coming year.”

The 27-year-old had a terrific season for Cleveland, reaching statistical avearges he hasn’t seen since his sophomore season with an upstart Oklahoma City Thunder side. He finished the regular season with 12.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.1 steals.

Teams across the league would pay top dollar for a second-string point guard who can produce such numbers without needing to hold the ball that much. With the Cavaliers not having that much cap room for 2025-26, it will be an uphill battle to keep him in Cavaliers colors through the offseason.
