The Phoenix Suns are heading home down 0-2 against the Oklahoma City Thunder, but the scoreboard is only part of the story. After Game 2, the bigger conversation shifted to officiating. Several whistles frustrated Phoenix, and star guard Devin Booker clearly wasn’t in the mood to stay quiet.
Booker openly criticized the calls he received, including an offensive foul and a technical. He also questioned why no explanation was given afterward. In playoff basketball, emotions run hot. However, when veteran stars start calling out officials by name, the noise gets louder fast. That’s exactly where things went next.
Former NBA star DeMarcus Cousins backed Booker’s frustration and pushed for more accountability from referees.
“What’s wrong with accountability? Why is it taboo to call out the referees, because they put a rule in place? These referees should be held accountable at some point.”

Booker also hinted he expects a fine for speaking out, but alluded that he felt disrespected by how the game was handled. With Game 3 set for Saturday in Phoenix, the Suns now need answers on the court and maybe from the whistle too.
LeBron James turned back the clock again with a vintage playoff showing for the Los Angeles Lakers. At 41, he dropped 19 points, eight rebounds, and 13 assists while carrying extra responsibility with key teammates sidelined.
Some compared this version of James to Magic Johnson, but Cousins wasn’t buying it. He said calling this James’ “Magic era” actually sells James short.

DeMarcus Cousins argued James has been an elite playmaker since day one and is still controlling playoff games two decades later. His point was simple: James isn’t copying legends, he’s his own legend.
