The Golden State Warriors were on the road on Wednesday night as they faced off against the Houston Rockets in Game 2 of their first round series.
Of course, the Warriors took Game 1 of the series and they looked to carry momentum into Game 2 and take a commanding 2-0 lead before heading back to The Bay for Game 3.
Instead, disaster struck for the Warriors early on as their superstar forward Jimmy Butler left the game late in the first quarter after taking a hard fall during a rebound attempt.

Butler would never return to the game due to a pelvic contusion and the Warriors ended up falling to the Rockets 109-94.
Golden State will now head home for Game 3 and 4 with the series tied at a gam apiece but the major concern for the franchise is the health of Butler.
According to The Athletic’s Anthony Slater, Butler is expected to have an MRI on Thursday for his pelvic injury.
MRI expected tomorrow for Jimmy Butler, per source. Warriors have dealt with a couple of these pelvic contusions recently after similar falls from Steph Curry and Jonathan Kuminga. Curry missed two games. Kuminga missed one. Then it became a pain management issue.

Slater also mentioned that Golden State has already dealt with similar pelvic contusions as both Stephen Curry and Jonathan Kuminga also suffered one earlier in the season on similar falls.
Curry missed two games due to his pelvic injury while Kuminga missed only one game. After returning from the injury, it then becomes a pain management issue.
This is a massive blow for the Warriors as Butler has made the team into a championship contender alongside Curry and Draymond Green.
Of course, Butler’s addition at the trade deadline from the Miami Heat turned the Warriors’ season around and looked as though they were on their way to making another deep playoff run.
Now, the Warriors will have to wait and see how long Butler will be out as they try to keep pace with the Rockets in the series to avoid a first-round exit.
The good news for Golden State is that Game 3 is not until Saturday so Butler will have some extra time to rest and prepare for a crucial Game 3 at home.
