Devin Booker Addresses Trade Rumors Following Suns' Win to Close Road Trip

The Phoenix Suns finished off their five-game road trip on Wednesday night with a dominant 108-84 victory over the Brooklyn Nets.

Phoenix finished their road trip 3-2, bringing their record to 22-21 on the season, which has them sitting 10th in the Western Conference standings. While their road trip was a positive one, it has been overtaken by recent trade rumors surrounding the franchise.

The Suns have already made some moves this season, but they are expected to make more ahead of the Feb. 6 NBA trade deadline. Phoenix landed Nick Richards from the Charlotte Hornets last week to upgrade their center position and then they sent their 2031 first-round pick to the Utah Jazz on Tuesday in exchange for three first-round picks.

While the Suns have been busy making moves already, a bigger move may be on the horizon. Of course, the Suns have been linked to Jimmy Butler of the Miami Heat after he demanded a trade. Butler’s preferred destination is Phoenix, but a trade still has yet to be made.

With all the trade rumors circling the franchise, Suns’ star guard Devin Booker gave his thoughts about them after Wednesday’s win over the Nets.

“Nothing surprises you at this point,” Booker said. “A lot of things you hear end up never happening. Some things that you never hear ends up happening. We just have to lock in to what we do. We're all professionals here that are getting paid. We're going to keep doing what we got to do and focus on the present and what's going on right now.”

Booker gave an honest answer when asked about the trade rumors, saying that the team is focused on the present. He also mentioned that some things that you hear end up not happening, which could be the case in the Suns’ pursuit of Butler.

Either way, it seems as though the Suns’ roster, including Booker, are focused on the present and not on the ongoing trade rumors circling the franchise.
