Draymond Green Approaching Warning From NBA

Draymond Green's return from a one-game absence was cut short after he was ejected late in the first half of the Golden State Warriors' game against the Utah Jazz on Saturday night.

Green missed the Warriors' game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday due to rest. Against the Jazz, though, he returned to the starting lineup with Steph Curry and Jimmy Butler — who both missed the OKC showdown as well due to injuries.

Unfortunately for the Warriors, Green was tossed in the second quarter after getting hit with two consecutive technical fouls. With 2:25 left in the second quarter, the four-time All-Star argued a no-call on what he believed was a 3-second violation, prompting his ejection.

Green ended the night having played just 12 minutes and recording eight points, three rebounds, two assists and a block.

It's worth noting, however, that Green entered Saturday's game with seven technical fouls. That means he's now up to nine techs this season. He'll get an automatic suspension once he reaches 16 technical fouls.

Furthermore, according to NBA rules, Green is closing in on receiving a warning from the league. The rule states that "a warning letter" is "sent when the violator reaches his 10th (5th in playoffs) technical foul."

For now, Green is subject to potential punishment from the league. The sixth to 10th technical fouls assessed to a player in the regular season carry a $3,000 fine each.

The 35-year-old NBA veteran was also ejected during the Dubs' game against the Phoenix Suns in late December after arguing with a referee. At his current technical foul rate, Green is in danger of getting suspended sooner rather than later.
