The entire basketball world knows how competitive Draymond Green is. They also know that when he speaks, his words are equally competitive or fiery, whichever way one sees it.
Even if one were to omit the choke on Rudy Gobert and the smack he delivered to Jusuf Nurkic , the 35-year-old is well known for his physical and borderline cheap-shot-infused defense.
When he is not delivering his usual theatrics, the Michigan State alum is often labeled as one of the best minds in the NBA. At 6′ 6″, he might not have the physical traits to be an otherworldly defender.
Along with that, his ability to counter the opposition’s defensive and offensive schemes and set his teammates up has helped the Golden State Warriors become the most successful team of the past decade.
If not for Stephen Curry‘s untimely hamstring injury , the Warriors could have had a better ending to their playoff run. They displayed their veteran experience and savvy in the 1st round series against the Houston Rockets.
In that series, Draymond Green went up against the Rockets’ big man duo of Alperen Sengun and Steven Adams . He did his part, and the Warriors moved on to the next round.
After all these months, Sengun, during an interview on Socrates Dergi, mentioned that the Warriors were crying about fouls despite fouling more than the Rockets. This came to the attention of Green, who wrote this on Threads.
That’s a tough thing to say after you lose… You have to win to stuff like that.

He then added after a Warriors aggregator reposted that Sengun’s post.
Hold that L.

This was the Saginaw, Michigan, native at his fiery best, shutting down the Rockets’ complaints with a reference to their loss to the Warriors.
When James Harden was part of the Houston Rockets, they were billed as a rival to the Golden State Warriors. A decade later, a new iteration continues that rivalry against the latter’s old guard.
This latest iteration will get former Warriors superstar Kevin Durant to help them take the next step. But it is the younger lot who faced Draymond Green and his teammates.
They are still hurt by that loss, knowing they did not accomplish what many hoped they would do. It seems even their families are hurting after Tari Eason‘s mother responded to Green’s taunt.
Oh Dear, now it’s war.

The last time her son and the Warriors had a bit of a back-and-forth battle of words, the latter came out as the winners. The Rockets forward ended up looking bad, and since then, this rivalry has had an added tinge of spice.

This rivalry will become a focal point of next season when the two collide on November 26th at Chase Center. Tari Eason’s mother might want to get that last laugh next season.
Last season, when the Golden State Warriors struggled for consistency, many felt their legacy was over. Then came Jimmy Butler, and the team started its resurgence.
Throughout this time, Stephen Curry and Draymond Green kept maintaining that a 5th title was their ultimate goal. The former agreed that this version of the team needed a full season to figure out how to best play with each other.
Next season, they will get that chance. The franchise did not invest in the offseason, which should give an indication that they are happy with their current roster. Expect them to give Alperen Sengun, Tari Eason, Kevin Durant, and the Houston Rockets a run for their money.
