Draymond Green Facing Backlash Over Karl-Anthony Towns Accusation

At a point during the NBA season, players like Paul George are setting down the podcast equipment to focus on the most pivotal stretch of the year, and the Golden State Warriors star is taking the opposite approach.

With the Warriors fighting for the No. 6 seed and hoping to push for a title, Green has found himself in hot water over comments he made on a recent episode of the "Draymond Green Show with Baron Davis."

When talking about Tuesday's matchup with the New York Knicks, which Towns did not play in, Green told Davis that he heard a rumor that Towns was avoiding recently acquired Golden State forward Jimmy Butler.

"They said KAT ain't played because Jimmy came into town," Green said. "And you know him and Jimmy had the infamous practice in Minnesota...That's the thing, I don't know."

A comment that fans are blasting Green for as Towns missed the game due to personal reasons, according to ESPN's Tim Bontemps.

"This is so disappointing," wrote one fan in response to Green.

"The most unlikeable NBA player of all time lol," wrote another.

"How are you this dumb and self-centered bro @Money23Green," questioned one user.

"Draymond owes Karl a public apology," stated another.

"Horrible take actually disgusting. Like kat ain’t dropped 40 on jimmy earlier in the year what is this guy talking about," pointed out one user.

"This is terrible. wtf. Dray," questioned another.

On top of it coming off as insensitive, it is also highly unlikely considering Towns went head-to-head with Butler earlier in the year. When the two teams faced off in Miami when Butler was still with the Heat, Towns finished with 44 points and 13 rebounds.

Despite all the backlash, Green has yet to comment on the matter.
