Haywood Highsmith is a productive role player who appeared in 74 games for the Miami Heat during the 2024-25 season.

This week, the 28-year-old was traded to the Brooklyn Nets.

Via The Brooklyn Nets: "The Brooklyn Nets have acquired forward Haywood Highsmith and Miami’s 2032 second round draft pick from the Miami Heat in exchange for Brooklyn’s 2026 second round draft pick, which is protected from the 31st overall pick through the 55th overall selection."

Following the news, Golden State Warriors legend Draymond Green made a post to his Instagram story.

“Look what you’ve done Jimbo @JimmyButler”"

Butler was traded (via the Heat) to the Warriors during the middle of the 2024-25 season.

He had been teammates with Highsmith for part of four years.

Highsmith finished last year with averages of 6.5 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists per contest while shooting 45.8% from the field and 38.2% from the three-point range in 74 games.

Via Yossi Gozlan of Third Apron Podcast: "The Brooklyn Nets have $22.5 million remaining in cap space after acquiring Haywood Highsmith.

Day'Ron Sharpe and Ziaire Williams remain unsigned, so they're likely working with less cap space when factoring them.

They'll need to cut two players before start of regular season."

As for Green, he is going into his 14th NBA season (all with Golden State).

They have won four titles in that span.
