Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green used his social media to show support for Charlotte Hornets veteran Miles Bridges.

During the Hornets’ preseason matchup against the Dallas Mavericks, the four-time NBA champion took to his Instagram Story to share a highlight of LaMelo Ball finding Bridges for a powerful dunk.

“MB lost 20 pounds!! Watch out!! Dunks galore!” Green wrote alongside the clip.

Green’s post quickly caught the attention of NBA fans, especially given his long-standing loyalty to fellow Michigan State alumni Bridges. His message hinted at renewed excitement for Bridges’ athletic form and potential comeback as the Hornets prepare for the regular season.

Hornets’ Exciting Preseason Run

The Hornets’ preseason matchup offered plenty of excitement for Charlotte fans. LaMelo Ball was in top form, recording 20 points, six assists, and three rebounds in just 23 minutes. He hit four of his eight attempts from beyond the arc and showed flashes of his signature creativity on offense.

Bridges, meanwhile, reminded everyone why he remains one of the league’s most explosive forwards. His connection with Ball led to several crowd-pleasing moments, including the dunk that caught Green’s eye. According to Hornets fans online, the forward’s slimmer frame and improved conditioning were noticeable throughout the game.

With Collin Sexton now joining the backcourt rotation, the Hornets tested new combinations during the preseason. The pairing of Ball and Sexton proved effective; their shared minutes on the floor resulted in a +26 point differential against Dallas, with an offensive rating of 151.2.

Draymond Green’s Loyalty to Bridges Runs Deep

Green’s latest social media post wasn’t the first time he’s publicly backed Bridges. The Warriors star has been open about his close friendship with the Hornets forward, calling him “my little brother” during a press conference last year.

“Miles can do no wrong to me,” Green said in February 2024 after a Warriors-Hornets game, according to Larry Brown Sports.

While Green continues to show support for players across the league, he remains focused on leading the Warriors into another championship run. The veteran forward recently told ESPN that he believes Golden State is “in a better position now to win a championship” following key offseason additions, including Al Horford, De’Anthony Melton, and Seth Curry.

Despite a rough preseason game against the Los Angeles Lakers, where Green scored just two points in 22 minutes, the 34-year-old remains confident in both his team’s potential and his role as a locker room leader.

For the Hornets, Bridges’ return in top shape could make a significant difference this season. Alongside LaMelo Ball, Brandon Miller and the newly acquired Collin Sexton, Charlotte appears to be building a stronger, faster and more cohesive lineup under coach Charles Lee.

Green’s observation that Bridges “lost 20 pounds” aligns with reports from training camp suggesting the forward has been dedicated to conditioning and refining his explosiveness. If his preseason performance is any indication, the Hornets could have their high-flying duo of Ball and Bridges back to full force.
