Former Miami Heat legend and 3-time NBA champion Dwyane Wade has been enjoying post-retirement life.
After he wrapped up his final NBA season in 2018-19 at the age of 37, the all-time great shooting guard shifted his focus to running a myriad of businesses and teaching his children how to navigate life.
Specifically, Wade's 18-year-old daughter Zaya seems to have received plenty of pointers from her dad on how to maneuver through her financial dealings.
During a recent episode of Wade's Wy Network podcast, the former dominant shooting guard took the opportunity to detail his daughter's expectations when it comes to money and financial responsibility.
"You're responsible for what with your own team?" Dwyane asked Zaya.
"Payment."
"She pays everyone. Daddy don't pay everybody."
"She's responsible for paying. If she wants stylists, if she want her hair, she want her makeup."
"Whatever she wants, you have to know financially that you can (do it)."
With Wade more present in his daughter's life both as a father and financial advisor of sorts, Zaya has now gained the confidence and business acumen to partner with plenty of recognizable brands.
Over the past few years, the young entrepreneur has worked closely with brands such as the eyeglass manufacturer Warby Parker and sports apparel giant Puma, the latter of which she created a custom shoe with in Dec. 2023.
As she continues to grow into her own as a businessperson with her successful father right by her side, the sky could very well be the limit with regard to Zaya's future.
