Former Nuggets Guard’s NBA Future in Question After Report

By making these moves, the Nuggets are expected to be a major threat to the Oklahoma City Thunder next season but it appears as though one of their former players will not be back on their roster next season.

Russell Westbrook's NBA future in question

That player is Russell Westbrook, who’s NBA future is now in doubt after NBA insider Jake Fischer reported on Thursday that the Kings are the only home for the former league MVP in free agency.

“The Kings are the one home for Russell Westbrook if he’s going to be in the NBA at all,” Fischer wrote.

This is a shocking report by Fischer as it appears as though no teams around the NBA are showing interest in Westbrook this offseason outside of the Kings.

Of course, Westbrook is coming off a solid season last season in Denver where he played a large role both off the bench and in the starting lineup after his struggles the prior two seasons with both the Los Angeles Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers.

The 36-year-old guard averaged 13.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 44.9% from the field and 32.3% from three over 75 games last season in Denver.

While Westbrook showed last season that he could still play a large role for a contending team, it appears as though the Kings are the only team showing interest in him this summer and for them to sign him, they would have to trade or cut one of their players.

Despite this, it has been reported that the Kings are trying everything they can to bring in Westbrook to upgrade their point guard depth but if they are unable to move one of their players, the former NBA MVP may be out of the league next season unless another team emerges as a potential landing spot.
