Four Teams Reportedly Eye Aggressive Offseason Move for Giannis Antetokounmpo

Something feels off in Milwaukee, and nope, it’s not the record. The Milwaukee Bucks crashed out at 32-50, missing the playoffs for the first time in a decade. Injuries piled up, the roster never clicked, and even Doc Rivers’ exit added to the mess. For a team built around Giannis Antetokounmpo, the drop-off hit hard.

Still, Antetokounmpo looked like himself when he played. Nearly 28 points a night, elite efficiency, and the same downhill force. However, availability became the storyline. Just 36 games. Ankle, calf, constant wear. At 31, that physical style raises real long-term questions. And with no extension offer on the table yet, the uncertainty is loud.

As reported by Shams Charania on April 14, 2026, four teams, the Miami Heat, New York Knicks, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Golden State Warriors, are lining up for aggressive offseason moves.

The playoffs could shape everything, but the direction is, in fact, clear. If Milwaukee hesitates on a $275M extension, the trade market is ready to explode.

Milwaukee Bucks Eye Kawhi Leonard as All-In Move to Keep Giannis Antetokounmpo Committed

The Bucks aren’t cooked just yet, and neither is Antetokounmpo. The front office still has a shot to clean this up. However, yes, the clock’s ticking, and the Greek Freak ain’t waiting around forever.

So here comes the name everyone’s circling: Kawhi Leonard, per Marc Stein. There’s real buzz that he could be in play this summer. And even at 34, he’s still got the juice – efficient, physical, and a problem on both ends.

Milwaukee’s been here before. Big swings, no hesitation, Jrue Holiday, Damian Lillard, all-in moves. They’ve got picks, pressure, and a superstar watching closely. If they want Giannis Antetokounmpo locked in for the long run, this might be the move.
