Giannis Antetokounmpo is in Budapest before Saturday’s Champions League final between Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain, taking part in local PlayStation promotion work.
Even with the focus on football, the NBA Finals became a topic on Marlon’s stream before Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs had settled Game 7.
The Milwaukee Bucks star did not avoid the question. He picked a winner, gave a reason and backed the team many would still see as an underdog.
Antetokounmpo told Swedish streamer Marlon he believes the New York Knicks will win the league this year, pointing to their current run and the energy around the team.
The Bucks star said (via BasketNews): “I think the Knicks will win the whole thing. Basketball is about momentum. They’ve won, like, 11 in a row, and the city is rallying behind them.”
That prediction is notable because the Western Conference winner would usually be viewed as the stronger side after the campaigns produced by the Thunder and Spurs.

OKC entered as defending champions, while San Antonio have Victor Wembanyama driving one of the league’s most dangerous postseason stories.
Still, the Knicks have built their own case. Their sweep of Cleveland sent them to the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999.
There is one concern. Mitchell Robinson had surgery on a broken right pinkie, although he reportedly plans to play Game 1 wearing a brace.
That could still matter against either Western frontcourt. But Antetokounmpo’s view is clear: rhythm, confidence and Madison Square Garden belief may shape the title race.
