Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry has “no clue” when he’ll retire from the NBA.

Curry is 37 years old. He turns 38 on March 14, 2026.

“No clue. I just know it’s closer than it was even yesterday,” Stephen Curry told Malika Andrews of ESPN. “It’s just a matter of like acknowledging it is fun because the more I talk about it, the more you appreciate what all goes into preparing yourself.

“But all of that stuff is just the privilege that you’ve earned, but I’m trying not to put any timestamps or anything other than the sense of urgency on it now.”

The Warriors selected Curry with the seventh overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft. Curry has career averages of 24.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 6.4 assists. He’s made the most 3s in NBA history.

A future Hall of Famer, Curry has won four championships, two MVPs and one Finals MVP. The 11-time All-Star guided the Warriors to a 73-9 record during the 2015-16 season, the best mark in NBA history.

In 70 games last season, Curry averaged 24.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 6.0 assists while shooting 44.8% from the field, 39.7% from beyond the arc and 93.3% from the free-throw line. He made the All-NBA Second Team.

The Warriors beat the Houston Rockets in the first round of the 2025 playoffs in seven games but lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round in five games. Curry suffered a left hamstring injury in Game 1 against the Timberwolves and missed the rest of the series.

A top 75 player of all time, Curry will make $59.6 million this season and $62.6 million next season. He becomes an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2027.
