The Golden State Warriors entered the offseason looking to upgrade their roster around their star trio of Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green, though it has been underwhelming thus far.
Of course, the Warriors are coming off an interesting season that saw them go from a fringe playoff team at the beginning of the season to being a title contender after acquiring Butler from the Miami Heat at the trade deadline.
Golden State was eventually eliminated in five games by the Minnesota Timberwolves during the second round of the playoffs, though they were not fully healthy after Curry suffered an injury in Game 1.
Now the Warriors are looking to upgrade their roster this offseason but they have yet to make a move during free agency, which is a surprise to many around the league.
Golden State is still awaiting a decision by restricted free agent Jonathan Kuminga, which has hurt their opportunities to sign some of the bigger names in free agency who have already been scooped up by other teams.
The Warriors also lost veteran center Kevon Looney during free agency as he signed with the New Orleans Pelicans, hurting their center position even more.
With their lack of moves thus far during free agency, the Warriors earned an F grade as they have gotten worse rather than better this summer.
Of course, the Warriors still have time to make moves as they await a decision by Kuminga, as well as Al Horford as he contemplates retirement despite multiple teams being interested in signing him.
Despite this, Golden State has already lost out on multiple players that they were linked to and with many other teams in the West upgrading their rosters this summer, the Warriors are running out of time as players continue to sign with other teams.
Due to this, the Warriors may be forced to look at the trade market more than in free agency to upgrade their roster as they try to chase another championship next season.
