The Grizzlies are signing guard Scotty Pippen Jr. to a two-way contract, agent Erika Ruiz told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Interestingly, the deal is for two years, Wojnarowski reported. That’s a rarity in the world of two-way deals.
Pippen, 22, is 6-foot-3 and was waived by the Lakers before the season. He spent last season mostly with the South Bay Lakers of the G League, appearing in six games with the parent club. He appeared in two preseason games in October, averaging 4.5 points and 2.5 rebounds.
The son of Bulls legend Scottie Pippen, the younger Pippen is likely headed to the Memphis Hustle of the G League, though he will definitely get a chance to contribute for the Grizzlies, given their massive injury list.
