The Atlanta Hawks are aiming to keep two of their own in free agency, with veteran wings Caris LeVert and Larry Nance Jr. both drawing interest from the team ahead of a pivotal offseason, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
LeVert, acquired from Cleveland at the trade deadline, provided a needed scoring punch off the bench. In 26 games with Atlanta, the 30-year-old averaged 14.9 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.9 assists, while also earning praise for his locker room leadership.
His strong play down the stretch likely boosted his market value, with rival teams expected to target him at the non-taxpayer mid-level exception of roughly $14.1 million.
The Hawks, who hold LeVert’s Bird rights, can exceed the salary cap to re-sign him. A deal starting around the $16.6 million he made this past season could be enough to keep him in Atlanta.
Nance, 32, appeared in just 24 games due to a lingering knee issue but shot 44.7% from deep and maintained a presence in the locker room.
Atlanta marked his fifth team since entering the league in 2015, and despite limited availability, he is expected to draw interest from several teams in need of veteran depth.
Meanwhile, Clint Capela’s time in Atlanta may be nearing its end. The veteran center lost his starting job to Onyeka Okongwu during the season, making Capela a candidate to change teams this summer as Atlanta looks to reshape its frontcourt.
But all eyes are on what lies ahead with Trae Young. The four-time All-Star has one guaranteed year left on his deal at $46 million, plus a $48.9 million player option for 2026-27.
His name has surfaced repeatedly in trade rumors, and with newly appointed general manager Onsi Saleh now steering the front office, a decision looms on whether to extend the franchise centerpiece — or entertain the idea of moving him.
