Heat's Udonis Haslem returns for 19th season on one-year deal

Three-time NBA champion Udonis Haslem isn't ready to call time on his playing career quite yet.

NBA insider Shams Charania reported Wednesday that Haslem is staying with the Miami Heat for a 19th NBA season via a one-year deal worth $2.6 million:

Haslem turned 41 years old in June and, per the NBA's official website, is the Association's oldest player. He appeared in a single game during the 2020-21 season and played only three minutes before he was unceremoniously ejected:

Earlier in the day, Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald noted that Haslem has played in 29 total regular-season games since the start of the 2017-18 campaign but has been a Heat captain every year over the past 14 seasons.

Haslem has averaged 7.6 points, 6.7 rebounds and 25.1 minutes across 859 career regular-season contests, including 500 starts.
